Braided Beauty: How-To

The hair industry is one GIANT network-education is what holds it all together. The feeling of learning a new foiling technique, cutting design, or up-do style is one of the greatest feelings and new student/stylist experiences. The greatest part is that, that feeling never goes away! No matter the level of experience a stylist has you’re always going to feel that moment of pure excitement when you’re creditability has improved.

When I was in hair school I was so excited to learn any and everything my school had to teach me I couldn’t even contain myself, but what I really couldn’t wait for was to learn long hair design (up-do’s). The sheer detail of long hair design’s always fascinated me…simply the way the hair can move. You can tuck it and roll it to enhance the shape, the overall silhouette, the entire feel of the design. What I couldn’t believe was how simple it was! All you need was the tip and the trick to literally create magic on someones head.

I was given the pleasure to help Modern Salon magazine create a How-To to my french braid bridal up-do! Imagine this can be you one day…! Thinking that I would be advising new students/stylists on how to create a particular design would be so unreal to me back in my school days. But here it is! From my knowledge to yours I’m passing down my own shred of education-Enjoy!
