French Braid Updo How-To:
One of my FAVORITE things in the world-playing with my mannequin head. Since beginning my career in beauty I’ve always been stunned by the amazing things you can teach yourself just by working with some hair! I came up with a fun simple style that can be used for any occasion. It appears complex but is actually quite simple! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Long haired model/mannequin head
- Rubberbands
- Bobby pins
- Holding spray
Step 1: Prep the hair with styling products of your choice. Get the hair nice and smooth and leave at natural fall.
Step 2: Section the entire head into 3 quadrants. Since the finish product will contain a side bun section the center quadrant on an angle where you’d like the finished bun to be.
Step 3: Beginning with your center section begin your french braid all the way to the ends. Make sure to keep it moderately tight and to the scalp. Move on to your side sections.
Step 4: Finish your french braids as shown-remember to braid to a center point (where the bun will be located). Secure with rubber bands.
Finishing: Begin but “pulling” your braid loose on all sides to cover sections and blend the design together. Separate braid all the way to the base of the braid. Finish by rolling the ends of the braids UP and pin into a slight side bun as shown. Finish with hairspray and TA-DAA!
