Meridian Career Institute is committed to preparing students for rewarding careers in Cosmetology, Aesthetics (skincare) and Massage Therapy.  Our facility includes a modern, commercial day spa where students are able to practice their skills on real clients in a real salon\spa environment. All members of our faculty are licensed and experienced professionals in their field and this provides our students with a multitude of additional learning opportunities.

Meridian Career Institute is an accredited member of the Accrediting Commission for Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) and financial aid is available to those who qualify.  Additionally, Meridian Career Institute is a member of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools, Florida State Massage Association and the International Estheticians Association.

Programs Offered:

Cosmetology

The Cosmetology program's educational objective is to prepare students for entry level positions as cosmetologists.

Cosmetology students will learn to perform men's and women's haircutting, styling, perm application, coloring, bleaching, facials, chemical waving, relaxing, straightening, scalp treatments, shampooing, manicure & pedicure, nail extensions, waxing and make-up. Upon graduation and state licensure they will be qualified for positions as entry level Cosmetologists (performing full hair services), Nail Technicians, or Make-Up Artists and prepared to seek employment in a full service cosmetology salon or nail salon performing the above services on female or male clients.

Massage Therapy

The Massage Therapy program's educational objective is to prepare students for entry level positions as Massage Therapists.

Upon graduation from this program the student will be qualified to sit for the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB), the examination currently used for Florida licensure as a Massage Therapist. Once a person is licensed they can seek employment as a Massage Therapist in health spas, doctors offices, cruise ships, resorts, and will also have the option of starting their own practice or business.

Aesthetician/ Skin Care

The Aesthetician/ Skin Care program's educational objective is to prepare students for entry level positions as Skin Care Specialists and Aestheticians.

Skin Care students will advance into the theory and practical skills necessary for skin care with instruction in State Law, HIV/AIDS, chemistry, bacteriology, sterilization, ethics, skin disorders as well as basic facial massage, makeup, hair removal, glycolic acids, cosmetic peels, collagen treatments, aromatherapy and special camouflage make-up and microdermabrasion and lymph biology (lymph drainage). This program is designed to prepare the student for entry level employment in the field of aesthetics
and skin care.

Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
