The European Academy of Cosmetology & Hairdressing

1575 Boston Post Road, Building C
Guilford, CT 06437

Who We Are
The European Academy of Cosmetology & Hairdressing, LLC (TEACH) brings world-class education and training to the Connecticut shoreline.  Located in a state-of-the-art facility, and staffed by masters in thier field, TEACH offers a comprehensive, progressive education in the basics of hairdressing and cosmetology, with additional training in salon management.

Why We're Here
TEACH students will benefit from the substantial experience and expertise of academy founders Christopher J. Rollins, owner of the popular and successful Christopher's Salon & Day Spa in Guilford, and Michael Criscuolo, Christopher's Salon Director. They created the Academy to provide students with an alternative to the existing, limited educational opportunities in Connecticut.  More important, they hope to pass along the keys to their own success: knowledge, a mastery of the basics and a desire to stay ahead of the competition with new skills and training in the latest styles, products and services.

What You'll Learn
The course of study includes 1,500 of classroom education and hands-on-training.  Classes, taken either full or part-time, prepare students to apply for a Connecticut license in Hairdressing, Cosmetology and Barbering.

The first 200, classroom-based hours, focus on the theoretical aspects of all content areas.  The remaining hours are devoted to practical experience - first with mannequins and then clients.

While learning, students have access to the highest quality equipment, products, learning tools and education.  In addition to Rollins and Criscuolo, other academy instructors provide a wealth of experience and training, with much of it coming from L'OREAL and TIGI, top companies known worldwide for their products, advanced expertise and educational programs.

While learning the basics and latest trends from these master instructors, students also receive a comprehensive education into the real world of the salon.  The curriculum includes advanced education courses in motivation, computers and business management.  TEACH also will provide students with tips and some support for their job search.

Curriculum Overview

TEACH curriculum fulfills the requirements of those seeking  a Connecticut State License in Hairdressing, Cosmetology and Barbering.  This includes 1,500 hours of comprehensive instruction and training, both in and out of the classroom.  Students can complete the course of study by attending full-time or part-time.

The first 200 hours of instruction are devoted to theoretical aspects related to the study of hairdressing and cosmetology.  Classes include study and practical discussion to prepare for later, supervised practice.  The remaining 1,300 hours will consist mainly of supervised, hands-on practice, although some practical and theoretical instruction is integrated as needed during this time.

To make sure that TEACH students have an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to succeed in their new career, they also learn about the real world of the salon.  Instruction in this area includes salon computers, business management and motivation.
